My race was canceled this morning due to inclement weather. I waited until the worst of it was over and went out on my own run.

Unfortunately it was a bit humbling for me. I set out for 6, decided to do 7 about halfway through, and then suddenly hit the wall at 5. I made it a third of a mile further before I gave up and walked home.

I know there were a number of things working against me on this run (high humidity, warmer temps, dehydration, and shark week), but I’m still disappointed. Oh well, they can’t all be great I guess.

1 yin yoga class (my mom convinced me to go) and 3 treadmill (yuck) miles last night at Lifetime Fitness. I wasn’t too fond of either activity. The yin yoga class was a little too slow for my liking and after not being on a treadmill for about 6 months, I’d forgotten how horribly boring they are. 

No run today because I’m racing tomorrow. Happy Friday!

Grilled fresh veggies, a pale ale, and a young summer sunset with your feet kicked up on the back porch - I feel pretty darn blessed right about now :)

3.5 miles after work. The temp was pretty warm compared to what it is on my morning runs, so I took it a little slower and decided to cut it half a mile short. I’ll get used to the heat eventually.

In better news, I FINALLY found earbuds that don’t fall out! They are called Yurbuds I think and they are probably my new favorite material possession.

My boyfriend’s deployment was canceled about 3 weeks ago. I didn’t start believing it until this past weekend when he told me when he was flying back.

Well I just learned today it’s back on again. So I went from the amount of time left on the left, to the amount of time on the right. I’m excited for him, but this just kind of sucks right now.
